It is hard to describe what a run through the night, in the woods, under the light of the moon feels like. But every time we do it we love the feeling. Yes, it is about covering miles, but it is more than that. It’s a journey inward, where the distractions fade and all that’s left is the rhythm of our breath, the sound of our footsteps, and the clarity that comes from being fully present in the moment. A night run challenges us to confront our limiting thoughts and beliefs. For it is in the darkness of the night when others are resting, that we tap into our deeper selves and our reserves of determination and grit. So let’s get out into the night and face our challenges head-on, trusting in our strength to navigate the darkness, and knowing that by morning, we will have come out stronger, more focused, and more prepared for the road ahead.
Loving life when I run at night
