9,000 miles away

The journey continues, red-eye number three completed, and I arrive in Singapore, on the equator, with only two more red-eyes to go and the feeling that a five hour flight seems to be “short” and time zones are becoming irrelevant.  And what I am seeing and feeling is, as you might expect, is that some things around the world are exactly the same and some just fundamentally different.

It got me to thinking that the beauty of THPL is that it appeals to everyone (that is everyone who is interested).  And as we think about the globalization of our lives and the simplicity of being more alike than different, we can ponder the question; what is it that should be the same, and what should be different?  Processes, infrastructure, values….these should all be the same …..style, culture, traditions, perspectives….these should all be different.  We make it easier when we can connect on that which is connectable and we make it fun when we “color” life with different perspectives and interests.  For THPL this means that we have the same Life, Learning and Fitness framework, we have the same commitment to excellence and improvement and we have the same purpose in having THPL in our life.  But if you want to run, bike, dance, read, study, meditate, volunteer etc you should choose those which are interesting to you.  Travel the world, 9,000 miles and you will find out we are the same as we are different – THPL is going global….. watch out, who knows what might happen if the world adopts what we have grown to believe in….
