Practice, Practice, Practice

Practice  - "to perform an activity repeatedly in order to improve or maintain one’s proficiency". There are many a day when we get the opportunity to execute on a skill or capability and when these moments arise we just go and do it. We think little of are we ready, are we good enough – instead we just allow momentum to carry us forward. Taking this approach, where we act just on instinct does not always work. In fact, on our THPL journey, where we are targeting improving our performance, where we expect to operate at the next level we need to make sure that we don’t miss the opportunity to practice again and again so that we can actually execute better and create better outcomes.

So, why is it that we do not practice when we know it can make us perform better? Is it lack of time, lack of patience, lack of determination? Truth is that there are probably 1,000 reasons why we would chose not to practice. But if we allow this to be then we need to accept that our performance will plateau and we will never reach our true potential. So, with practice as our secret weapon it seems that all we have to do is change our mindset and before long our THPL performance will just get better and better. Simple, yet effective – yes, that is it….
