A Round Table

The simplicity of it all.  A round table, 11 people eating dinner, sharing food, enjoying the moment.  A bit cramped but that was the point.  One group, one conversation at a time.  Connecting on a range of topics it felt as if we had known each other for a very long time.  The proximity, common interest, and sense of purpose all contributing to a special moment.  One when the essence of THPL just comes to the surface on its own.  Not explicit as is the usual when we talk about the THPL journey, about Life, Learning and Fitness improving over time to deepen the sense of personal fulfillment.  Rather is was the subtle feeling of team, one that wants to win, one that has pride and passion and one that also appreciates being part of something bigger.

There are moments like these that we all pass through and the key is making sure that they are not fleeting, that there is sustainability in that feeling, that the desire to make THPL personal and professional at the same time is real and can be material in its result.  We left committed to each other and to the new bond that had been formed and a common call to action.  It was a pleasant surprise for all of us, for sure.

So, as I put my head on the pillow in Mexico City, with my 10 newest friends floating around in my head, I realize that it is really up to us to choose our path forward, to believe there are no constraints and that the power of each of us is far beyond what we can imagine.  It is with this belief that I will rest well and be ready for tomorrow because for sure it will have to be better than today because we will make it so.

Loving life when sitting at the round table….
