Think Big

On Monday of this week Pete Kostelnick a 29-year-old from Lincoln, Nebraska, arrived in NY City after running 3,076 miles starting from San Francisco’s City Hall.  He completed the trek in 42 days, 6 hours, and 30 minutes. The feat is unprecedented, and ends one of the oldest held Guinness Book Records.  The previous mark, set in 1980 in 46 days, 8 hours, and 36 minutes. Kostelnick, aided by a four-person crew, averaged more than 72 miles a day to break the record by more than four days.  Running on average 14 hours each day for six straight weeks he showed what a “big” idea can be turn into.  He pushed the envelope and broke the record because he set out to bring a THPL like perspective to his journey.  He showed all of us that no matter the challenge we can achieve more than we think we can if we put our whole self into the journey.  While many of us will never run across America, we can dream big, just like Pete did.  And when we do, our journey becomes remarkable, with our accomplishments as our proof, to ourselves, that we are powerful and the possibilities are limitless.

Loving life when I think big
