The THPL journey lives by the mantra of “seize the opportunity” and while we all know that we should act when the time is right, it is good to be reminded to keep this principle front and center in our minds. So, when I read about Johanna Davidson setting the record for skiing to the South Pole I was struck by how she accomplished such an amazing feat. With an original plan to take 50 days to get to the Pole, she found herself moving faster than expected due to her fitness and her gear being up to the task and so she pushed hard and arrived in 38 days. A remarkable, and yet, unplanned achievement. Instead of just sticking to the plan she seized the opportunity to go faster and pushed and pushed and ended up with a remarkable accomplishment. Might be something for us to consider as we set out to achieve more in 2017. So, when we find ourselves “feeling good” we should push a bit harder and get it done sooner, faster and better. It will be a theme for 2017 that we should all take to heart. Congrats to Johanna and role modeling for us how to get it done!
Loving life when I seize the opportunity
