Crown King

THPL was on the run again today.  Just north of Phoenix was the 25th running of the Crown King Scramble, 50k (31 miles), ultra-marathon. From Lake Pleasant to the old mining town of Crown King we ran through the heart of the Sonoran Desert on fire roads climbing our way into the Bradshaw Mountains.  With 6,750 feet of climbing and a peak altitude of almost 7,000 feet there was plenty of opportunity for “suffering”.  But with a spectacular setting, epic hills and a perfect weather, any bit of pain was worth it The race took me 6 hour 14 minutes to get the finish line and it is another great ultra in the books..  FWIW, it is fun to be around other ultra runners, the ultra community is very “chill”, unassuming, supportive and also quite intense.  What could be better for a part of our THPL journey?

Loving life whenever I have finished an ultra race
