It would seem that somewhere along the THPL journey, if we put enough of ourselves fully into the mission to live to the principles and beliefs of the high performance life that we would be recognized for having “soul”. It is a deep and heartfelt compliment if someone tells you that you have soul. It is one of those words that has more meaning than what Webster’s can tell us. It brings with its formal meaning a mix of commitment, passion, authenticity and sincerity. We cannot fake soul, it is there or it isn’t, but this does not mean that we cannot develop soul. To do so requires that we put more of ourselves into what we do, how we live, how we think and how we interact. It is as simple as it is complex, the subtleties as important as the explicit feeling that shows itself when we are soulful. And so, it is, another of the mysteries of THPL, a recognition that we can and do have more to find out, more to show, more to feel. We do not set out to have soul, we just find our way there. And when we do, and we are told that we do have soul, it is a great moment, one to be cherished and appreciated. With soul…….indeed
