Once is not enough

On this journey that is powerful and empowering we will find the time and the will to push to achieve something big.  And there is great success in our THPL life when we do accomplish our goal, could be running a marathon, making a big presentation, volunteering for a charity – any of the activities that we have defined that are important to our own version of I can do more than I think I can. And lest we get too greedy we need to consider that doing something once is great but it could be argued that the second time is even more impactful.  It sets a deeper foundation, and a stronger base when we do it more than once.  Just this week a remarkable example of this happened.  Killian Jornet completed the second of two climbs of Mt. Everest in one week, both times without supplemental oxygen.  The level and degree of difficulty of this accomplishment is hard to imagine – the “I can do more than I think I can” validated at an even deeper level.  We can use this inspired activity to push ourselves past the “one and done” mentality that can get in the way of long term success and accomplishment.  A wow opportunity awaits, for sure…..
