There is no question that as we pass along our journey there are moments in time when we find ourselves bound up, maybe even closed in by the circumstance of the challenge that we have taken on. Our experience tells us that being bound up is not a dead-end, rather it is a time for us to think about how we find a pathway to escape. And with this, we reach into what we know is an antidote to our circumstance. Something that either changes how we feel or wipes out the obstacle. Our antidotes could be a simple as stepping back, going on a run, reading a book, taking a nap…. just about anything that tones down our sensitivity to what is bothering us. The more we learn how to use our “antidotes” the more we can take on new challenges. Having a programmatic way out of challenges is truly part of how we get closer to maximizing our high performance life. Indeed, it is.
