Hands-on

There are tried and true ways of learning and when we look deeply at who some of the best of us are we will find people who have mastered their craft by being hands-on.  For sure we can learn by reading and listening and observing but our performance truly comes together when we do it ourselves.  We get into the essence of the creative process and the resulting outcomes by touching it feeling it and doing it.  This approach, as we know, applies to everything from trades, to athletics, to musicians, to writers and on and on.  The learning that happens from the tactile nature of what we do can be the differentiator in our performance.  And when we do it again and again over longer and longer periods of time, we just get better and better.  So, let’s make sure to be hands-on no matter the task or the job, we will be better for it and so will all around us who see what comes of this kind of engaged journey.

Loving life when I am hands-on
