In the “olden times,” that is before the pandemic, we might have thought of the places we have not-been as lands and geographies unvisited. And it would have been the only way we could have conceived of the statement. But everything has been turned upside down and now we are going to new places we have not been to before. We define places now as Zoom calls and quarantine backyards and we are figuring out how to get used to them. There are some other places we can go but before we go, we stop, and think is it safe? Our innate instinct to travel, visit, and explore bottled up by a virus. We work hard to adjust and yet it wears on us and we think about those places not yet visited. We will get back to them and we will travel again it will just take time to get this virus under control. In the meantime, let’s create a new version of places we have not been and find freedom and solace in our new reality. We better learn to like it as we will be here for a while.
Loving life when I go places I have not been
