As the saying goes there is no time like the present to do the right thing. And with all that goes on around us, it is always a good time to acknowledge people, friends, accomplishments, and land. Yes, land acknowledgment is an honest and historically accurate way to recognize the traditional first nations of a land. They commemorate Indigenous people’s kinship to the land and the fact that for as long as we will inhabit the earth it started with a people who were from the beginning and connected in a way that we will never be able to replicate. With all that goes on in today’s fast-paced, grab-and-go culture it is important to take a moment from time to time to give fair acknowledgment to where we all came from and to be thankful for all that it turned into. A benefit for all from yesterday’s past and the tomorrows to come.
Loving life when I acknowledge those who started here
