There are those days and those moments when we are on our journey and we shake our head as we run on the trail, walk on the sidewalk, wander around our office, or any such activity. We shake our head because when we look down, we see trash just strewn around. A small piece, a lot of pieces, and we wonder how/why/really? How is it that someone, seemingly a member of our community, has decided to litter, to throw trash on the ground, to pollute our land. It is unconscionable and hard to understand and yet, we get little chance to tell the “person” of their misdeed. Instead, we have to rise up and reconcile the circumstance and we do it by picking up the garbage and properly throwing it away. A tough move but a necessary one. We have to take care of our community, our surroundings, our planet and it starts with caring enough to right a wrong. And we can wash our hands after because that just makes sense.
Loving life when I pick up trash
