Discard the false narrative

We learn to be good at pressing forward on our journey regardless of the circumstance.  It is how we get a lot done.  And yet there are moments when life isn’t responding exactly as we want it to.  Maybe we are not getting the feedback we want, or things are not developing as quickly as we expect.  In this instance, we start to craft a false narrative, a storyline that is not based on fact.  At some level, it feels real and makes us feel better but with a bit of introspection, we realize that we need to discard the false narrative and live in the present.  We need not fill our void with a story, rather we need to get back to what we are good at.  Setting goals, building plans, executing, measuring, and enjoying.  We need nothing else, especially not a false narrative.

Loving life when I discard the false narrative
