Macros

There are many parts to the high performance equation.  From discipline to training to community and technique each part makes a difference in us improving and getting better.  But for all that we can do, our nutrition might well be the most important element of getting the most out of our system.  And it starts with the basics, that is, getting the proper ratio of macronutrients and a sufficient amount of each so that our system can respond and support the demands that we put on it while on our journey.  As a reminder, the general guideline is 40-50% carbohydrates, 30-40% protein, and 20% fat.  We can adjust based on our activities and our goals but what is most important is that we are aware of what our mix is and we are thoughtful about how we get the right balance between the macros.  With a bit of focus, it should be easy to do and with the proper effort we will see real results, yes we will.
