It is fun to get out and do a different (and local) race from time to time. We do not always have to go long distances to get out for a race and today I was able to get out and run the Leatherman’s Loop race in Cross River NY (yes, we do cross the river many times). It is a unique 10k trail run with river crossings, mud flats, a quarry climb, swamp land and the legend of the Leatherman (named after a Civil War era itinerant wanderer who spent time in the caves around the park and got to be known by the locals). The race is believed to be the third largest trail race in the US with 1,300+ people and it is just a fun time for sure. No PB’s out there but a great way to spend a Sunday morning with a whole bunch of happy people.
Loving life when running the Leatherman’s Loop
