When we are on our journey we can get wrapped up in our goals and objectives and push hard to do what is good for ourselves. And this is indeed a good way to live. But since we are part of a bigger community, a society that is to protect and provide a safe and functional place for all of us to live, we need to look beyond what is good for us individually. Over the past few days, we have seen, yet again, horrible, and senseless killings of members of our community who were going about their business and their right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Totally innocent victims in the crosshairs of a society losing its way. We cannot continue to spiral downwards like this. We need to intervene and stop these unacceptable killings. We must do better. We do not need to agree, nor do we all need to be the same, we need to be left to live and not have life taken away from anyone. We must do better and it's time we held ourselves to the standard that we should hold for all members of society – no more killings, it is that simple.
