We are blessed to have every day we get while on our journey. The good, the bad, the new, the different; they are all part of what we find as we traverse from day to month to year. And there are some days that have a special celestial element, like the winter solstice, that marks the longest night of the year (and the shortest day) in the northern hemisphere. That moment when the sun has reached its southernmost point, and we truly bring the onset of winter. And on these cold days, it seems appropriate to take a moment for introspection, mindful renewal, and the feeling that the light will emerge from the darkness as the sun moves back north. And as we pause for a moment, we are reminded of the cyclical nature of life, with an assurance that from this point forward, the days shall gradually lengthen, and we can embrace the return of light and warmth.
Loving life on the winter solstice
