Big Horn 100

While on our journey there are many metaphors for how life plays out.  We work to describe something by comparing it to a like idea and we can find ourselves learning from other-like situations.  And in this instance, an ultra-marathon, like the Big Horn 100, served the purpose of showing how life plays out.  The ultra puts great stress on the people who run the race, it includes scheduling and support, food and equipment, team and community, and finding a way to get to the finish line.  The discomfort that comes from the race is all part of the experience and it provides a look inside ourselves to tell us in the moment what we are made of and ready for.  And as in life we can only get it done and enjoy the journey with a crew/team along and by our side committed to us and our success.   Working with and through the core challenges is a key learning and we know that that we can get better all the time.  So, let’s dig into the metaphor and learn deeply from what we know and experience.  We should set ourselves up to enjoy the journey, strive to be better, and appreciate all who come with us.

Loving life when I finish a 100-mile race
