It is something we hear frequently. That is hard. It is too hard to do that. It should not be that hard. I don’t like it when it gets hard. And the list goes on. So, a step back. What is hard and why does it create such a feeling of resistance? We think we like challenges but maybe not hard challenges. Maybe we are just using the word too generically to answer the basic question. What is hard, anyway? Maybe it is all about framing what it is we perceive. The perception that the effort required will get us less return than expected or necessary. It could be that we are just avoiding that extra effort because it would be better to do something that is more efficient. And it could be that we end up liking what is hard, attracted to the challenge, learning that easy and hard are both good for our soul and who we want to develop into. So, let’s think about embracing it because it is hard, yes indeed.
Loving life when I do what is hard
