What is it about reality that is so hard for us to grasp? We seem to be generally resilient as we age and develop, and yet, from time to time, we use irrelevant frameworks to determine what we do and how we feel. It seems that maybe we need to think about adapting as a core skill to help us reframe. And the more we reflect, the more we realize that our ability to adapt is as crucial as any skill or talent that we have. We can start by thinking about “adapting” as the art of navigating our ever-changing seas of life with agility, resilience, and grace. Adapting is about embracing change as an inevitable and valuable part of growth, not as an obstacle. It’s the recognition that the path through life is not linear and that flexibility and responsiveness to new challenges are key. And we can celebrate adapting as much as we celebrate quantitative results. In reality, adapting is a demonstration of strength, not a sign of weakness. Adapting is an ongoing process of self-assessment and recalibration, where we continually adjust strategies, goals, and mindset in response to new information and experiences, where change is not just something to be managed but an opportunity to be seized and appreciated.
