Everyone in our community knows that THPL is blind to gender, culture, religion, race and other differences. We believe that we are all peers on the THPL journey and we all like taking it to next level - we do so by making cross community collaboration a key way that we figure out how to improve our performance or to solve an issue or to learn how to do something better.
It seems, though, that there are others who do not see life in the same way that we do. If they did then we might not need an International Women’s Day (which is today BTW). We are thrilled that a day like today is growing in popularity and that the team at Google changed their home page to celebrate women and their contributions. And so we have to support days like today because even though we have made progress with women’s equality when we look around the world positive gains are still unequal across the globe. International Women’s Day celebrates the social, political and economic achievements of women while focusing world attention on areas requiring further action.
Inspiring Change is the 2014 theme and it encourages advocacy for women’s advancement everywhere in every way. It calls for challenging the status quo for women’s equality and vigilance inspiring positive change. And we can help. Let’s make use ourselves and our THPL community a sponsor and supporter of this change movement. We can make a difference we just have to get involved – there is no question about it, we can do it – and today is a good day to take it to the next level.
Loving Life and equality for women worldwide
