OK, first post influenced by a beer company…..right, exactly…. we need to keep an open mind about THPL and life and learning and how we do it for sure. With the mind open to learning and to the mission of expansive thinking I find it very interesting the way that Heineken is driving its aspirational brand to be provocative and thought provoking. The recent campaign that they launched rolls out a new social experiment called ‘Routine Interruptions’ where thousands of people across the US are giving the the chance to step into the ultimate night out, if they just do one thing… Answer an unsuspecting call from Heineken, and agree to do what ever they say at that moment. It really does test the mindset about pre-conceived notions.
What mindset do we bring to a situation that we did not even realize we had? Are we pre-judging? Or evaluating? The whole situation is a great example of the complexity of taking the next step when you are not exactly sure what the outcome will be. I watched it again and again and thought – wow, that is just like the steps we take with THPL. We are offered, as a result of our endeavors, choices to go do something for which we are not certain of the outcome. How do you make a decision to go forward or not? Maybe what we need to do is to be more prepared to act, less stuck with “fixed” models and mindsets, more interested in reaching into the unknown. A bit scary ,but then again, what great result did not have some level of “fear” or “uncertainty” tied to it. Watch the video if you have a minute and then ask yourself what would you do? Yes, what would you do?????
