For anyone who has spent even a little bit (or a lot) of time in pursuit of THPL you know that it takes an incredible amount of dedication, sacrifice, and trade-offs. And even though there are 168 hours in a week, and yes that is a lot of hours, when you take a large chunk of them to dedicate to your THPL pursuit, be they athletic, intellectual or behavioral there is a corresponding impact that is created. And often that impact is on family members, friends, co-workers and the like. They all get less of our time and have to accommodate our pursuits, and our stuff, and our different life style, or they risk becoming an obstacle to progress (not usually recommended with the type “A” personalities often found in THPL) on our THPL journey
Given this relatively normative and somewhat selfish (in the THPL context) behavior that we exhibit, it is important to reflect on, and then recognize, the support and latitude, and tacit encouragement, afforded to every one of us, who lives THPL every day. Simply put we need to say thank you explicitly, often and then again for everyone who supports us directly and indirectly on our path to higher performance.
Loving life when saying thank you.
Ciao
