I am quite confident that if asked to recite the Pledge that 99% of you would be able to do so. And today that is exactly what we did. We brought back the tradition - we brought it back because we re-launched our High School. Our team is dedicated to serving the needs of our 40,000 high school students. And we thought what better way to connect with them than to start the day like many of them do – reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. It was a fun and stirring moment, it brought back many memories and it connected us in that way that we all can relate to – a feeling of obligation and commitment. We need moments like this to make our team take on the attributes of THPL. We know that High School needs more than just books and tests – we aim to bring it alive with a team dedicated and focused on extending the learning and bringing it to life in ways that make a difference.

Our history lesson tells us that the Pledge of Allegiance was originally composed by Francis Bellamy in 1892 and it was formally adopted by Congress as the pledge in 1942. We will keep its spirit alive at PennFoster and you can be assured that it will be one of the threads that bonds us together. As a result, we believe that our students will feel our bond and our commitment.

And so it is with this charge that we move forward. We bring to the Penn Foster High School a combination of tradition, challenge, technology, community, content, learning and dedication – dedication to the success of our students, to introducing them to THPL and the incredible value that a High School diploma will bring them. Now that is something to celebrate
