30,000

What can I say??  30,000 is a lot of anything.  Right?  I think so, and so it is that I am a grateful that I had the will and the health and the strength to be able to cross the 30,000 pull-up mark for 2014.  Not sure I can really internalize that I was able to do this.  It seems like so many pull-ups.

Yes, it was a lot of volume but more than anything it was another opportunity to meet a goal that went over a long elapsed time, actually a year.  In addition to liking goals over time I really do enjoy body weight oriented exercise as it fits well to who you are – it allows you to capitalize on your size, strength and “might”.  A bit of further reflection reminds me that achieving a goal like this starts with what you do  one day and you then repeat it again and again.  To get to the goal you make sure you never miss the opportunity to do the pullups.  It is difficult to make the goal if you miss too many days.  It is hard to “catch up” later on.  And so this achievement is about consistency, focus, and execution.  It is a plan that helps drive success when on your THPL journey.  I think I will use it again in 2015…..
