When we start down the THPL path we come to it with a set of expectations for what the journey will be like. Much of which is formed way before we make the choice to embrace, at a THPL level, our views of Life, Learning and Fitness. It is our views and experiences that can both push us forward or hold us back. How do we see ourselves is a big part of what we think we can do, or will be doing. Interestingly, even when we have confidence, we can self-limit because we think about, that is not me, or I am not capable of that. People “like me” do not have those opportunities. We know, though, after spending time on the THPL journey, that how we look at what is possible will be the reason it happens of does not. We can ensure the - it won’t – or we can pursue the “I can” and from there the adventure begins.
Here’s the idea – come up with something that you never thought you would do, or a place you would not imagine being able to go to, or ….. you get the idea. So, for me, I would never have imagined being able to go to Vietnam. For so many reasons, generational, financial, historical it seemed like the last place that I would visit. And here I sit on my flight from NY, heading to Singapore and then to Vietnam for four days. I am not sure what to expect but it will be significant in ways beyond that which I can imagine. I will write about it later in the week – and I think that my view of what is possible just got bigger……and I like that feeling.
Loving life, when doing what you never expected to do
