East Meets West

I have been traveling the THPL journey for some time now and there are days when the Learning and Life themes come together, almost serendipitously.  I am sure that my experience is similar to any member of the THPL community.   What I mean is, there are times when you get that “aha” moment.  It is moment created by the amalgamation of many experiences.  Today I had one of those moments when wandering around Singapore in the early hours of the morning looking for a place to eat breakfast and it hit me that is the place where East meets West.  The intersection of Asian culture with Western approaches. Breakfast was suitably Asian, no bagels and pancakes, and the community feel was palpable.  And at the same time there was the order of the West with all of the appropriate trappings, which only a one time British Colony would have.  How fun it is to be able to see and experience this part of the world.  I liked the idea that I did not even recognize some of the local fruits (they all taste good by the way).  So, the growth of mind comes from many angles but for sure it is in seeing different things, experiencing different cultures and observing all that is around that we can expand our mind and our understanding of where we are the way that the world comes together.  There is no “right or wrong” just a deeper appreciation for what the world has to offer when you go out and visit it.  What are you waiting for……..

Loving life, while walking around, eyes open, experiencing more and more
