For THPL disciples, it would, be hard, today, to write about anything other than the Chicago Cubs winning the World series. We all know the story – no championship for 108 years, more than a lifetime, more doubt on one side and more belief on the other side than could legitimately be put to such a circumstance. There was every reason in the world for the Cubs not to win. They were down 3-1, they were playing on the road, they had “never won” seeds of doubt running everywhere, in the fans, in the press, in the locker room – could the Cubs actually break this drought? Was it possible?….they were close so many other times - it seemed hard to grasp and yet….today on a non-descript November day, the Cubs did indeed breakthrough – they did the unthinkable, after 108 years, after all that was pulling them away – they won the World Series. A better metaphor for “what is possible” on the THPL journey would be hard to find. So after a day like today, it is our choice; do we want to hold on to what is “not-possible” or do we want to hook ourselves to what “is-possible” and then go get it. Greatness in life comes from the power that we unleash when we believe….it will soon be our turn, so we better well be ready cuz, wow, the feeling and emotion are worth everything when we go and make it happen. Hope springs eternal indeed and the Cubs are at the center of it, indeed….
