Seems a bit odd to be talking about the snowflake when it is heading towards summer (at least in the northern hemisphere). But this is not about something that is born of the cold – rather it is about the uniqueness that is a snowflake – one in a million, or one of a kind – either way, the beauty that is a snowflake is in what in unique and different about it. We can stare at it and admire the way the crystals form, when assembled, a thing of beauty and something to inspire. And it is from this perspective that we can think about life and all of the people we will get to meet and know while on our journey. We are all unique; we are all beautiful in our own way, one in a billion actually – the snowflake metaphor applying perfectly to how we should think about each other. We know that if we squeeze a snowflake we destroy it, if we hold it gently in our hands it stays beautiful. We need to think the same of how we treat each other – we cannot crush our friends, our colleagues, our families or anyone we meet by putting too much pressure on the other. Rather we need to hold each relationship gently in our hands so that the beauty that is within us can radiate forever more. It is a good practice to think about every day. Are we letting beauty blossom? And if not why not? We know what to do – let’s do it.
Loving life when I am holding that snowflake ever so gently
