Sitting in Doha, Qatar, working my way back to the US, observing, and reflecting, on the feeling that the world has indeed become one big community. No matter where we are we can have something different or something familiar (or maybe they are the same). Hummus in India, in Qatar, in the US……CNN, wifi……it matters none the example as they are as numerous, as they are the same, and available, everywhere, to everyone. We have hit a point where it is common for us to share and adopt all that use to be “national” so that it can be considered global (shared). And it happens because we are happy, and compelled, to share our learning’s, our experiences, our preferences, and our traditions more and more readily. It is through this sharing that we can all feel just a bit closer to each other, that a life like THPL and its purpose can be used broadly, that we can benefit not because something came from “our” land but because it just is a good way to be, to think, to live. Is the Indian food different in India, sure, but not so different from what we can get near where our homes that we cannot feel the essence of the culture, the preferences and the goodness that comes from a cuisine and a people. The same yet different the basis for a wonderful world community.
Loving life when different is really the same
