There are many reasons that we keep a focus on fitness as a core part of THPL. There is a feeling of accomplishment, we get stronger, we stay vibrant, we can be social in our activities and of course there is the learning part that comes along, as we get deeper and deeper in our selected area of fitness focus. The other side of this is that there is medical research that continues that shows again and again that our brains get a benefit when we exercise. Exercise induces the creation of many new cells in the hippocampus, which is a part of the brain essential for memory and learning. So, maybe we are indeed getting smarter when we exercise or at least giving ourselves the ability to get smarter. Seems like a nice combination of benefits that we can get on our THPL journey. Time for a run?
