After 20 hours or so of travel we emerge from a metal tube into a land far away from the familiar and we find ourselves on the other side of the world, in this case Sydney, Australia, and the next phase of the THPL journey begins. The day is beginning locally and while the temptation is to lie down and sleep conventional wisdom tells us that we should move quickly to get in synch with the local daily routine and start the day as we would if we were home. Maybe a run, probably breakfast and a coffee, a bit of morning news and email, whatever it is that we would normally do we and get right to it. And with enough will and determination the day will start out well and will continue so till nightfall when we can get some rest and be ready for the next day. What we learn from this approach is that we are better off fitting into a system (that is in motion) when we first meet up with it than fighting it– joining might take a bit of energy (to direct our inertia) but in the long run it is the best way to maximize our potential and benefit from our trip. Giving this kind of approach the proper attention makes our journey be the best that it can be and that after all is what THPL is all about….
Loving life when I live through the day of arrival.
