Dream it, Plan it, Practice it, Do it

The Six continent challenge completed.  A moment for reflection.  What an amazing experience the week was.  More amazing than anything I could have imagined. A deep breath, a sigh of relief, a sense of satisfaction and a recognition of how many people had supported me throughout the challenge.  The body has reacted well – no big issues.  The mind strong, this was Type 2 fun.   The soul full of spirit, satisfaction, and personal fulfillment.  The significance of what has been accomplished just starting to take hold and yet a sincere feeling that what was accomplished was within the realm of the possible.  Extraordinary but not impossible.  The mantra of Dream it, Plan it, Practice it, Do it providing the structure for the challenge and a set of expectations aligned to the magnitude of the adventure.   For example, I knew that sleeping on planes was integral to being able to complete the challenge.  And so, when I had to sleep sitting-up it met expectations. The overall circumstance for the week set the “mindset” through which the week would then be measured.  That is, relative to what I expected, it all happened as planned and so maybe the less than dramatic feelings that occurred are connected directly to the plan and the expectations.  It was going to be hard, awkward, challenging, and difficult for sure, so when the difficult happened I was relaxed and pressed on.  The body and mind ready for whatever came its way – all “normal” in an admittedly abnormal/crazy kind of week.  A great and amazing experience on so many levels.  And, yes, it did feel great to sleep in a bed after the finish of running the Six Continent challenge
