Could it be that the journey that we take, while enjoyable because it is, goes to the next level of satisfaction when we allow ourselves to pursue suffering, a little or maybe even a lot. It is not that we want the misery in its raw form, rather, it is what we allow ourselves to experience when we suffer. We open ourselves to challenge, to hardship, to difficulty, and from it we test our soul, we feel more, and ultimately in response to the suffering we grow. We are pushed to use our resources, to take responsibility for what we are doing, and for ourselves, and we get a sense and a feeling that would otherwise not manifest itself. It is after all a process that has gone on for thousands of years and we are stronger for having taking suffering on and pushed beyond it. Our collective lives better, our individual lives a bit more fulfilled and a natural part of life not an obstacle but an enabler of more. Suffering is indeed more……
Loving life when I have an opportunity to suffer just a bit
