Take a three + hour car ride from Manila and you are transported to a land lush, green, expansive and very hilly. The perfect setting to hike up and through, over and around, roots, rocks, mud, and more, the destination hidden waterfalls careening over ledges that sprinkle water into pools that look like Disney made them. The humid, sultry feel of being deep in the jungle ignites the senses and the experience amazing. A great reminder, yet another example of how we need to find the unfamiliar, search out unique places, feel the world in a different way, personally, intimately and vividly. The THPL journey today took us to a place that was meant to be felt and seen. It would have been easy to fly back home and keep the normal flow going. A day long detour necessary – a reminder we need to make our experiences happen because every time we do we are better for it in so many ways….
