How committed are you

There are many examples, each day, of remarkable accomplishments.  Feats of strength, focus, endurance, mental toughness, grit, determination and so much more.  It seems that every day we can read about remarkable people and what they have done.  And it seems that the theme that is central to their success is commitment.  The number of days, the number of attempts, the frequency of trying, they all seem to have big numbers attached to them that only come to life with a deep level of commitment.  Just recently a climber finished a bouldering project he was working on after four years and 4,000 attempts.  There is the now infamous five attempts to swim from Cuba to the US and so many more like it.  The lack of quit, the determination and commitment are just remarkable and inspiring.  So as we take our THPL journey and set our goals, let’s not think about how quickly we get to them, let’s make them hard enough that they take time, time for us to work on making it happen, enough time for us to learn, and for sure long enough so that when we are done we will know that we have accomplished something very special.

Loving life when I am committed to my goal
