50 degrees

Ah, the learning part of THPL.....Travel enough on the THPL journey and we find out so many interesting things. And when you are in the northern part of Europe in the summer the length of the day just tells you that you are somewhere different (yes assuming we are not a local).  At 50 degrees latitude (Belgium) we are much further north than most of the US and you can feel it when you are here.  In geography, latitude is the coordinate that specifies the north-south position on the Earth’s surface.  It is an angle which ranges from 0 degrees at the equator to 90 degrees at the North and South pole.  And so it is, an explanation for why the days are longer at this time of the year – the earth’s angle in the northern hemisphere leaves little time for the sun to hide at this time of the year so it really is great to get out and enjoy the surroundings in the light of day – such a fun thing to do.

Loving life when I am at 50 degrees latitude
