The dynamics of pushing too high performance are such that our innate instincts are to push hard then push harder and then push harder than that. The more fatigued we feel the “better” we feel about the progress we are making. Yet, when we push it when we enter a race or when some kind of performance is required our results often do not match our efforts leading up to the race. More and more we are realizing that the root cause is exactly the opposite of what we instinctually push for. What we realize is that rest and recovery, easy and hard, all need to fit together to allow the body to absorb the load we put on it, allow us to heal and grow and develop and perform. So, let’s make sure that when we push hard we take it easy and keep the balance going – it will give us the best results. Indeed it will…..
Loving life when I am going easy as much as hard…
