The challenge completed

When we set out on our high performance journey we think about stitching together a series of challenges that help us figure out how far we can take the mind, body, and soul.  It is a key part of our definition of who we are and what we are capable of. And we played out one of these challenges this past weekend with the completion of the Leadman challenge and my participation in the Leadville Trail 100.  A running race of 100 miles in the high mountains of Leadville and a difficulty factor high even in the ultra-running community.  A testament to this the fact that of the 800 starters only 365 finished.   And yet, even with the odds stacked against me I was able to finish the race and get not just the “finishers” medal but was able to walk away with more learnings about life, our purpose, our potential and how to tap into it.  A difficult challenge for sure but the benefit derived exceeds the effort – even when the effort is really high.

Loving life even when I finish a big challenge
