We know it when we see it, it is something that seems obvious, there are just some people who operate at another level. We don’t need a definition for genius, it is obvious, they are inspiring people, they follow a higher calling and they channel all that is good in our minds and hearts. We celebrate genius because it broadly gives us hope and optimism. We know that genius is necessary to build a better future. And we know that the more we recognize it and support it the better for all of us. An animated example came from the MacArthur Foundation genius grants and the highlighting and selection of three black female authors elevating their voices and providing a level of recognition for underrepresented populations. Exciting and motivating. Genius recognized and celebrated. A great moment for all of us
