Rocket Science

Throughout our journey we have all heard the statement, “this is not rocket science”.  A reference to that which we are trying to do is not that difficult.  Seeing the latest rocket launching into space and thinking about the complexity and intelligence required to make space exploration possible it’s easy to agree that “rocket science” is a good reference point for a high level of difficulty.  And yet, a lot of life is not about an absolute.  What might be difficult for one person could be easy for another and vice-versa.  The “yardstick” that we use when we mention rocket science is indeed powerful but let us not downplay our own great accomplishments.  It could be what we are working on in our lives is difficult and challenging and working to conquer our challenges is a noble mission, just in our own context.  So, let’s respect the high order that is rocket science and also respect all else that we each work on every day – goals, objectives, passion, perseverance, apply regardless of the mission.  Here’s to the amazing accomplishment as we launch another rocket into space and to all other amazing accomplishments that happened today and will happen tomorrow.

Loving life when I do my version of rocket science
