What a year it has been

A year ago, we entered 2020 with our typical enthusiasm for a new year.  We celebrated a new year, made resolutions, prepared for new adventures, and generally started with a positive spirit in our hearts.   365 days later we find ourselves, in a sense, happy the year that was is ending.  So much strain and pain, more uncertainty than ever, and a feeling like none we have ever experienced.  An invisible enemy took over and we struggled to figure out what to do.  The range of emotions that were felt and the disruption that we experienced have taken their toll.  And while we are far from done, we do see the light at the end of the tunnel.  Now on the eve of the New Year 2021, we enter with a tempered feeling of enthusiasm and yet somewhere inside us a feeling that wants to embrace our new year at a level we have also never felt.  The advice to ourselves, though, be excited and cautious, careful and excited, and prepared for a great year.  What we now know is that 365 days from now will be as different as it was 365 days ago and in that our opportunity to embrace the journey, be happy for what we have, to love bigger and harder, and to say, hey, tomorrow, here I come – ready or not…..

Loving life on New Year’s Eve 2021
