The news is still grim, the number of cases of COVID-19 are rising, the tragedies are all over, it cannot be ignored or underplayed, period, full stop. Yet, amongst all of the craziness that is going on, the level of inconvenience and burden being placed on all of us, we are starting to see and hear more and more stories of remarkable people doing what we know how to do – to help each other. Doctors and nurses giving everything they have to help those infected, business owners employing people not working, teachers of all sorts giving remote classes and the list goes on and one. We have more people walking outside than ever before, we have people working out on their porches and in their livening rooms. We have inventors making new ventilators and everyday people making masks and gowns for medical professionals. And there is more, we have families spending time with each other, phone calls being made to check in on friends, and a spirit of caring coming out that has been sorely missing. We do not need a pandemic to find out that the human spirit is alive in all of us but we should appreciate that when the going gets tough we know how to respond, how to take care of each other, and ourselves so that we can get back to that life that we had a few short weeks ago. Here’s to everyone doing their thing to make this situation tolerable, thank you for all you do. The human spirit is alive, and it is great to see
Loving life when the human spirit is all around
