Today, regardless of whether we celebrate Easter or not, it will be very different from any other Easter Sunday that any of us have experienced. Religious services canceled, Easter egg hunts canceled, chocolate rabbit sales down, big family dinners – nope, restaurants and hotels empty, no fancy hats or dressy clothes – the list can go on and on. Who would have ever imagined this level of change (disruption)! It makes one pause, our holidays are defining of our relationships, our traditions, our cultures. We do “things” on holidays – they bring us together; they bond us, and we need them. And yes, we know that our circumstance will not last forever. What we should take away from this very different Easter is how important these holidays are, let’s cherish them; let’s remember how important our relationships are, let’s make sure to call someone or message; let’s remember how important traditions are, let’s reinforce them all the time. Bottom line is that we have a moment, now, when we can reflect and grow to appreciate all the good we have and how we should keep holidays and traditions sacred for years to come. It binds us together and we are all better for that. Happy Easter (and Happy “anything”), enjoy the day, it is ours and we need a good feeling at the moment.
Loving life and Happy Easter
