It is good, while on our journey, to take a moment to recognize role models who reflect what we believe in and how we see our role in this world. Our work collectively is to inspire the next generation of leaders to create a better world for all of us. From his earliest days, John Lewis lived this mission daily. He put himself in harm’s way, again and again, to bring to the fore a message of equality and fairness. He took it to the next level when he became part of the “machinery” in Congress. From Congress, he used his role and tenure as a platform for the message he carried when he was a protestor. He became a truly impactful person in the fight for justice and freedom and respect. We could use a lot more people like John Lewis. We mourn his loss and at the same time, we need to take his work and build on it. Thank you, John Lewis, for being who you were – you will be missed.
