There is a time for serious and there is a time for silly. Silly, that opportunity to be playful, goofy, funny. Being silly is a good foil to all that goes on in our lives as we grow and age. We all too often find ourselves bound up, wound up, and all too stressed. We find it hard to laugh, to smile, to be silly. We know the feeling that we get when we are being silly. It makes us feel good, it takes down our guard, it removes us from the day to day burdens we live with and so much more. When we are young and “unencumbered,” we think silly is just how we live; we need to work to not let this go. We feel better when we afford ourselves the opportunity to be silly and playful and since it is under our control, we should never pass up an opportunity to be silly. It’s easy to start and it costs nothing – just a desire to smile and laugh and make others do the same thing. Here’s to being silly – we deserve some silly time, that is for sure.
Loving life when I am acting silly
