It is possible that the year 2020 will go down as a year of stunning moments and we are just a bit over halfway through the year. It is testing all of us and yet as we move along, we keep looking for hope and promise. On August 10th history was made with the naming of a black women VP candidate. And with all that has gone on it is great to see that we have started down a path of being inclusive, supportive, and credible. We need to include candidates who are talented and representative of our population and our underrecognized groups and it is happening. It is so satisfying to also know that the dialogue will be different and that we will be able to speak more about a future than the past. Today’s decision might be long overdue, but it is great that we finally got there as late is better than never.
