The guide

As we go along on our journey there are many an experience that we have.  And from each experience an opportunity to learn, to take away an insight, to feel different and so much more.  We would be remiss if we did not work to get something out of each step along the way.  The nature of the human species is to improve, our curiosity the fuel for learning, and our innate need to do more the bookend for overall improvement.  With much of the burden for learning thrust in our laps, it is good to know that there are other ways to learn and grow.  There are people who can serve as our guide when the time is right.  They can shorten the learning path and make our efforts be even more productive.  The guide has walked the path that we are about to take, and they can provide advice and perspective that can be invaluable on our journey to go longer and live better.  Engaging a guide, though, is our responsibility and if we are to get the benefit of their experience and insights then we need to reach out, engage, and embrace what they can do for us.  The reward is significant and pays back over time and it will feel good enough that we will want to return the favor someday.  A guide…..indeed.

Loving life when I follow a guide
